Why take part?
‘Old Roads, New Technologies’ will be the final event of OMICRON and InfraROB. For three years, these projects have been addressing the challenges of Europe’s ageing road networks and how to manage and maintain them more safely and effectively. Their approach is to industrialise, automate, modularise or integrate a broad portfolio of technologies for road infrastructure construction, inspection and maintenance. These solutions will be presented, demonstrated and discussed within the context of wider issues that affect road owners and concessionaries, construction companies, policymakers and regulators in Europe’s road sector.
The EU-funded HERON project will also feature during the day, along with an exhibition of key technologies from all three projects.
Participation in the day will offer:
- opportunities to network with diverse experts from among the project consortia, invited guests from the road sector, and participating audience;
- the chance for direct information and follow-up about the presented and exhibited solutions;
- the opportunity to contribute to wider discussion that helps set the agenda for future collaboration and developments in the relevant sectors;
- experience the historic Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (College of Engineers for Roads, Canals and Ports) in the heart of Madrid.
Penultimate agenda
The day will explore key developments for Europe’s roads, following five thematic areas:
- digital inspection and monitoring technologies;
- smart construction;
- predictive maintenance;
- smart intervention;
- safe intervention.
Panel discussions will feature guests from the road industry beyond these projects, exploring the immediate and future impacts and implications of the developments presented.
Register!
Participation is free of charge. Only registered participants will have access to the event. The event will be face-to-face only, without the possibility of live online participation, though materials such as presentations and (possibly) session videos will be published afterwards.
